Abstract:   I will present our recent drive, carried out in collaboration with CSC Finland and Cray, to scale classical molecular dynamics efficiently up to 100 000 processors. In particular, I will discuss surprising scalability problems and solutions to them. I will also present the scientific motivation and first results on using the scaled code for studies of cratering under vacuum arc conditions.
