Dr. Luigi Brochard

Distinguished Engineer, IBM

Dr. Luigi Brochard received a Ph.D in Mathematics and a post doctoral degree in Computer Science from Pierre et Marie Curie University in Paris, France. Since 2000 Luigi Brochard has designed many of the largest HPC systems IBM has installed in Europe. Since 2006, Luigi is working on methods to optimize and predict the power and energy consumption of HPC applications. He designed SuperMUC system at LRZ and lead the development of Energy Aware Scheduling functions in IBM Loadleveler scheduler. Luigi is an IBM Distinguished Engineer in 2004. He is expert in different projects funded by the Europe Union and member of and holds several patents in the area of performance and power consumption.
