Dr. Martijn de Vries

CTO, Bright Computing

Martijn de Vries is the CTO of Bright Computing, responsible for the development of Bright Cluster Manager and its related cloud management products. Prior to Bright Computing, Martijn was head of software development at ClusterVision, where he led the creation of an innovative cluster management platform. This product overcame the many issues his company faced using the available management tools as they built and supported large cluster systems for their clients. ClusterVision spun off Bright as a separate entity in 2009. Prior to ClusterVision, Martijn taught declarative programming languages and distributed programming in the Computer Science department at Hanze Polytechnic in the Netherlands and programmed for the New York-based internet startup Shop.com. He holds a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the University of Groningen in The Netherlands, specializing in the design and theory of programming languages and parallel programming languages in particular.
